KARGIL WAR

When the Prime Minister of India Mr. Atal Bihari Bajpayee took a bus journey to Lahore & offered peace and goodwill to the people of Pakistan no one expected that Pakistan will betray us so soon. Pakistan sponsored intruders crossed the L.O.C. in Kargil and entered the Indian Territory. "Operation Vijay" was launched by Indian Army to flush out intruders from the Indian Territory with the help of Indian Air force.
As this war is being fought at a height of 15 to 17 thousand feet and our army is at a disadvantageous position, so this battle is likely to continue long. This war is now two months old and our Army is fighting one of the most difficult wars in recent times.But one thing is very clear. The war will not stop till the intruders are pushed back beyond the L.O.C.
More than 10,000 Jawans and Officers serving in Bihar Regiment Center and other regiments are on the war front. So far sixteen brave soldiers belonging to Bihar have died saving the motherland. The country will never forget the sacrifices of these Martyrs. We Salute and Pay Homage to the brave Officers and Jawans of the Army. They have played their role in examplanary manner , but have we reciprocated it ? This is a question which we have to answer....
7th July 1999 is a red letter day for us when it was announced that Jawans of Bihar Regiment Center pushed back intruders from Jubar Hills and point 4268 in Kuker Thang area in Batalik sector. The country is proud of the achievements of their brave soldiers.
